Buteyko Clinic USA offers complimentary drug free therapy for asthma patients based on Buteyko Breathing Method. Its effectiveness has been proved by medical trials and it is successfully practiced in many countries (Russia, Ireland, Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Germany, Denmark and more). The British Thoracic Society's 2008 British Guideline on the Management of Asthma grades Buteyko Breathing technique as category B, meaning that there are high quality clinical trials supporting the effectiveness of the method in reducing asthma symptoms and bronchodilator use. Mayo Clinic listed The Buteyko Breathing Technique among the most promising alternative therapies for asthma. The Buteyko workshops are covered by one of the major medical insurance companies in Ireland. Coventry University in the UK offers a course to train nurses how to teach the Buteyko Breathing Method to patients with asthma.

The Buteyko Theory is built on the study of the critical role of hyperventilation in human health. (see Ref: links below).

The Buteyko Breathing Method is taught by trained Buteyko Practitioner in a classroom like setting and consists primarily of breathing reconditioning techniques and exercises. The method does not in any way interfere with medical treatment participants receive from their doctor, nor does it encourage them to experiment with prescribed medication use and dosage. Prior to beginning the course, participants must sign an agreement not to alter their current medical treatment and prescribed medications.
This therapy has no side effects and helps most patients have significantly fewer symptoms, use less medication and enjoy a greatly improved quality of life.
It is our hope that the positive results achieved with this therapy will encourage more trials and medical research.

If you wish to familiarize yourself with the method, its history and how it is taught, we recommend AsthmaCare books .

Literature about the ife of professor K.P.Buteyko and his scientific publications is available. If you need to be directed to where to find those resources or interested in more information, please, contact practitioner.

It is our strong belief that every asthma patient will benefit from incorporating our program's breathing reconditioning technique in their asthma management plan. AsthmaCare welcomes your referrals.
